Browsing the Strapi Media Library in Raycast

Somewhere in fall of 2020, at the start of the second wave of the pandemic, I came a cross a project called Raycast. It was a replacement for Spotlight on MacOS. I thought this was incredibly relevant, because like Alt + Tab, Spotlight was one of the basic features of MacOS that was lacking. I (and I feel like everyone back then) installed Alfred to remedy Spotlights poor search results. I quickly noticed Raycast was faster than Alfred, it looked better and you had this cool thing called quicklinks. Being able to search your favorite websites with ⌘ + Space from anywhere on your Mac felt so satisfyingly efficient, I was hooked. I quickly became a Raycast evangelist and shared it with everybody that I knew used a Mac.

Fast forward 5 years, Strapi became my favorite CMS. I wondered if I could make a quicklink for Strapi, but soon understood that a Raycast extension would be a better fit. I check if one already existed on the Raycast Store and it didn’t! So I dove into the documentation to learn how to make one and got started, I finished it in two evenings (without AI, can you believe it?) and published it to the store. This was one year ago, and I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t used it much 😅

A year later, this weekend, I gave it another look. It needed an update and it still had some bugs, so I had Claude give it a look. He quickly cleaned everything up and I published v1.0.1. My reasoning was: “maybe I don’t use it, but others might!”.
